About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the use of micro thin flexible needles inserted a short distance into the skin while the patient lies on a therapy table. When applied to very specific locations, they unblock the Qi - or body energy system - and allows the body to operate and heal naturally.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture is one arm, another arm is Traditional Chinese herbs, followed by Tui Na a type of medical massage and of course Qi Gong. TCM works most effectively when all modalities are used in tandem along side good diet and lifestyle choices.

While nothing in medicine is definitive we can estimate how long the patient needs to receive treatment for. Some ailments like tinnitus can take a year while others such as sciatica could possibly be treated in a few weeks.
